Bloodstone is opaque green jasper with red inclusions of hematite. The red inclusions may resemble spots of blood, hence the name bloodstone. It is a mixture of quartz that occurs as a jasper, or sometimes a chalcedony.

The Norse called this stone Ymir’s Bloodstone, believed to hold the power and strength of the primordial beings that have always been, before creation and the Gods themselves.

Bloodstone will boost your courage and your strength while rooting you down and allowing you to feel safe and protected within your own skin. Many warriors throughout time carried this stone as a form of protection in battle, often worn as a tailsman with runic inscriptions.
